While I too have quite a number of reliable wireless links across my area (installed by the same people contractor as Bradford’s) there is never a better alternative to a duct, if there is an opportunity to put one in.
Hi Ian, The UTC team have a very good wireless network in Bradford. We have over 90 sets of OTU’s on our wireless system. This is going up weekly. If you need any more details then my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks Ian
I know other posts have touched on this subject but wondered if anyone had any more recent experience of UTMC comms.
We are designing a scheme to be installed in about 2 years time. Traditionally where major infrastructure was being provided we would ask for a continuous duct run between signal installations – this way we have extended our private wire circuits or had a single point of access (such as ADSL) with private wire run from there. The scheme includes 4 signal junctions which are along a road which is fairly straight so it strikes me that a wireless option should work well, the alternative would be to have ducting to permit linking via fibre.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of a similar setup please.
