We are looking at converting an existing road into a three metre wide two-way cycle route separated by about a metre from the remaining two-way carriageway. The remaining carriageway will have one lane in each direction.
Toucan crossings are going to be provided over the carriageway and cycleway and I would appreciate views on whether it would be acceptable to only provide signals at the extremities of the crossing or whether signals should also be provided on the strip separating the cycle route from the general traffic. Any advice would be appreciated.
