The interlock is purely to stop the tactile spinning when the green man is flashing surely? Why then would you need it where there is a blackout? The green man just goes off – no green man, no tactile.

Why would you need to use the interlock? The interlock is there for pelican use only. Dont complicate things.

I have been discussing with a client whether the interlock signal for tactile drivers is required if the crossing has a blackout period. Their assumption is that because there is no flashing period, the interlock is not required, I believe if the interlock signal is provided, then it should be used.I can find nothing in TR2508 which endorses either argument. This is for Pedestrian/Toucan controllers, not junctions! Any thoughts?
