A recent comment from a client made reference to IAN157/11, and the potential for loop slot-cutting to damage the surface dressing of a road. It goes on to suggest “infra-red patching” as a solution to this. However, on investigating the patching process involved, it appears to be quite brutal and I would question whether the loop itself would survive.
The fact that this statement is within an IAN, you may assume that this has been proved as an effective means of repair, however does anyone have experience in using this method?
Many thanks, Mark
